We recently adulted for two days at Disney World, visiting Hollywood Studios and EPCOT without our kids. It was amazing: we got to ride and eat whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted! Here’s a rundown of all the food and drinks we enjoyed and which we liked best, but first, did you know that if you’re staying on Disney property, there’s a way to use credit card points to pay for food you buy inside the parks?

Normally, food you purchase in the parks codes as “dining” on your credit card, so the best credit card trick is to earn three times points by charging your food to either a Chase Sapphire Preferred Card or a Citi Premier Rewards Card which both earn 3x points on dining. At Disney World, however, there’s a workaround: if you’re staying at a Disney Resort with a MagicBand tied to your room, you can charge food you purchase in the parks back to your room through your band. Because all room charges code as lodging/travel, if you have your Capital One card tied to your room, you’ll be able to erase park-food charges off your card with miles! Here’s two Capital One cards we recommend:

Capital One Venture

Open a Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card and earn 75,000 bonus miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening, for only a $95 annual fee. You’ll receive two complimentary Capital One Lounge visits per year, and earn unlimited 2X miles per dollar on every purchase, and 5X miles per dollar on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel. Earn up to $100 credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® fee with no foreign transaction fees.

Capital One Venture X

A premium card with a $395 annual fee, open a Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and earn 75,000 bonus miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening. Receive up to $300 back as statement credits for bookings through Capital One Travel, where you’ll get the best prices on thousands of options. Get 10,000 bonus miles (equal to $100 towards travel) every year, starting on your first anniversary. Receive up to a $100 credit on Global Entry or TSA PreCheck®. Earn 10X Miles on hotels & rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, 5X Miles on flights booked through Capital One Travel, and 2X Miles on all other purchases, every day.

Protect your cell phone every time you pay your bill with your Venture X card. If it’s stolen or damaged, you’ll get reimbursed up to $800 (certain terms, conditions and exclusions apply). Add cardholders to your account for no fee—they can enjoy benefits and you will earn rewards on every dollar they spend. Refer your friends and family to apply for a Venture X card and earn up to 100,000 bonus miles when they’re approved (terms apply). Sign up for complimentary Hertz President’s Circle® status, skip the counter and choose from the widest selection of cars—and enjoy guaranteed upgrades with Venture X. Recharge with all-inclusive amenities like fresh local food options, high-speed WiFi and cozy relaxation rooms with unlimited free Capital One Lounge visits for Venture X cardholders.

And now, on to the food and drink we enjoyed at Hollywood Studios and EPCOT!

What we ate at Hollywood Studios

Iced Chai at Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company in Pixar Place $5.74

but first, coffee

We eat a big hotel breakfast every morning, then bring fruit and bars into the park and eat those until around lunchtime, at which point I usually get a coffee.

Raspberry Lunchbox Tart from Woody’s Lunchbox in Toy Story Land $4.29

my least favorite thing we ate

I have a major sweet tooth, and still, this pop-tart was just OK.

Frozen Rum Berry Lemonade from Rosie’s All-American Café on Sunset Boulevard $13.00

I love a slushy cocktail

There was a major rainstorm brewing and we were killing time before the Beauty & the Beast show when I snagged this yummy slushy deliciousness across from Carthay Circle.

Peka tuna Poke and Ronto Wrap from Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Galaxy’s Edge $34.06

the Ronto Wrap is as good as everyone said

I don’t care what you order, eating dinner inside Docking Bay 7 in Galaxy’s Edge actually feels like stepping onto a Star Wars set. I highly recommend! (we liked the Ronto Wrap the best).

Wookie Cookie from Backlot Express $6.70

dessert!

For dessert we ate a Wookie Cookie from Backlot Express near Commissary Lane next to Star Tours. It was good, not great!

What we ate at EPCOT

EPCOT is the Walt Disney World Park known for its food, and for good reason. We tried our usual trick of eating hotel breakfast and bringing fruit/bars into the park, but I had to break down around lunchtime and get food from Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie.

Croissant Jambon Fromage from Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie $6.95

Macaron Lime Raspberry from Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie $6.25

We worked our way clockwise through EPCOT, sauntering by the new Connections Cafe, wandering around the flower and garden festival, and meandering around the World Showcase. When we finally ended up in France at Remy’s, the line said 135 minutes (it was 80 minutes in the end), so my husband got in line there while I got in line at the bakery. I waited about 45 minutes for the ham & cheese croissant & macaron and they were worth it!!

(Not pictured are the Guiness/Cider we had in the UK at the Rose & Crown around 1PM for $25)

Moroccan Mule from Spice Road Table in Morocco $15

It must have been around 90 degrees outside at 5:45 when I ordered this Mojito. I put my name on the walk-up list to dine at Spice Road Table & sipped on this while we waited.

Dinner at Spice Road Table in Morocco $60.00

This dinner on the lake was a delicious last-minute walk-up we snagged. What we ordered: Fried Calamari, Spice Road Table Sampler, Naan Spreads & Pomegranate-Chili Crispy Cauliflower.

Fish & Chips from the UK Kiosk in England $13.83

There’s absolutely no reason for him to be eating this Fish & Chips after dinner, other than marathon-training-induced-hunger coupled with EPCOT food madness.

Coconut Tres Leches & Arepas from La Isla Fresca outdoor kitchen between Morocco & France $11.25

There was even less reason for him to eat this third dinner, but it was there, so he ate it.

Pistacio & Cherry Gelato from Tutto Italia $9.06

This was the last thing we ate that night, but not the last thing my husband wanted to eat (he definitely eyed the kiosks in Germany).

TAKEAWAYS

If you do your homework beforehand, you’ll be pleased with your snacks and meals from Hollywood Studios and EPCOT; and remember, if you’re staying on property at Disney World, charge park food to your room via your MagicBand and erase it all away with your miles!
