There’s a lot of credit card bonuses out there at any given time–don’t you wish someone would just tell you what card to get? The problem with credit cards is that there isn’t one surefire card for everyone, but we do have a few favorites we turn to often for Disney travel. We’re sharing three that top our list because they have a generous welcome bonus, great travel perks, and/or they’re easy to exchange points for Disney tickets. We have had or currently have all three of these cards; otherwise we would not be recommending them to you!

Chase Sapphire Preferred

One of the many reasons we recommend starting with this card is because Chase will stop issuing credit cards to individuals once you’ve opened 5 cards from ANY bank within a 24 month period (it’s called the 5/24 rule). For that reason, you’ll want to open Chase cards before any others.

Open a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and earn 60,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening (that’s $750 when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards®). For only a $95 annual fee, you’ll earn 3x points on dining and on select streaming services and online grocery purchases, 5x points on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards, and 2x points on other travel, as well as a $50 Annual Ultimate Rewards Hotel Credit.

There are so many ways to use these points, it’s hard to know where to start. You could transfer the rewards to Southwest Airlines or United and book flights to Disney, or buy Disney tickets on the card and use the 60,000 points as an $600 statement credit to erase the charge. You could transfer them to Hyatt and book a hotel near Disney, or book lodging through the Chase travel portal where your points are worth $750 (because the Preferred gets you a 1.25 reward multiplier on travel booked in the portal). By the time you earn your bonus, you’ll have $790 towards flights or tickets, or over $985 to spend in the portal.

Here’s another great thing about this card: you can reopen it and get the signup bonus again every 48 months! Just close the card two weeks before you plan to reopen it, and make sure it’s been a full 48 months since you received the bonus (not since you opened the card).

The Venture X

This card is our current favorite travel card, for a lot of reasons: it comes with unlimited Priority Pass for you and all your authorized users, authorized users are free, you get Hertz President’s Circle Status and a TSA Precheck credit. The card has a $395 annual fee, but you also get a $300 annual travel credit for flights or hotel booked through their portal.

Open a Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and earn 75,000 bonus miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening. Get 10,000 bonus miles (equal to $100 towards travel) every year, starting on your first anniversary. Earn 10X Miles on hotels & rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, 5X Miles on flights booked through Capital One Travel, and 2X Miles on all other purchases, every day. By the time you earn your welcome bonus it will equal $790 towards flights, hotel or tickets.

We recently opened the Venture X, completed our minimum spend, and then purchased $572 worth of Disney tickets on the card through Undercover Tourist. Once the charge posted, we used 57,200 miles as a statement credit to erase the ticket charge! You could also use the miles to book flights through Capital One travel, book a Disneyland Paris Resort, or book the Marriott Swan & Dolphin Disney resorts at Walt Disney World.

The Citi Premier

Last but not least, the Citi Premier Card is in our top three cards to open.

Open a Citi Premier® Card and earn 60,000 bonus ThankYou® Points after you spend $4,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. With only a $95 annual fee, earn 3 Points per $1 spent at Restaurants and Supermarkets, 3 Points per $1 spent at Gas Stations, Air Travel and Hotels, and 1 Point per $1 spent on all other purchases. By the time you earn your bonus, you’ll have $640 towards travel expenses.

You can earn this welcome bonus again, either 24 months from when you initially earned the bonus or 24 months from closing the card. That means the quickest way to re earn the bonus is instead of closing the card, downgrade this card to a no annual fee Citi card before reopening it for another bonus.
