Home2 Suites .4 miles from Disneyland (a ~10 minute walk)

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Home2 Suites around the corner from The Happiest Place on Earth. What made it even suiter is that we paid for it with Hilton Honors (read more about how we use points and miles to book almost free Disney trips). You can earn the points you need to book this hotel free by opening a Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card and earning 140,000 points by spending only $2000 in 90 days (terms apply), opening a no annual fee Hilton Honors American Express Card and earning 80,000 points after spending $1000 in 90 days (terms apply).

Brand new rooms with cozy beds for kids on screens

QUIET, COZY ROOMS

My husband actually asked me why the beds in this hotel are softer than ours, and I don’t have a great answer; needless to say, we slept well here. Even though this property is next to a freeway, they strategically positioned the rooms on the Disneyland side, so they’re nice and quiet (request an even-numbered room on the sixth floor for views of the parks and nightly Disneyland fireworks shows).

Fully stocked kitchenette (not pictured: full-sized refrigerator)

KITCHENETTE

This kitchenette has brand-new everything you could ask for or imagine. It also boasts a full-sized fridge, which is nice for lunching in the room or preparing sandwiches and snacks for the parks (read more here about food we bring to Disneyland).

Suites with pull-out sofas are perfect for our family of five

THE SUITE LIFE

We are in the life stage where we either need two rooms or a suite; because we don’t spend a ton of time in the room during Disney vacations, we opted for a suite.

Beautiful Lobby with a Cafe, Restaurant/Bar, & Lots of Seating

LOBBY AREA

There were several sitting areas in this bright hotel lobby, along with restrooms and a drinking fountain/water bottle filling station (we filled our water bottles every morning before heading to the parks!). The restaurant and bar were so new they weren’t even open for use!

We visited Thanksgiving week and they were trimming trees
We used the gym on our “off” day

HOTEL GYM

One does not necessarily need a hotel gym on a Disneyland trip; after all, we averaged ten miles a day in the parks. We did have one rest day, however, and worked out as a family in the beautiful new gym on the second floor.

Free breakfast 6:30-9:30; we were usually the first ones there

FREE BREAKFAST

Across from the gym on the second floor is the breakfast room. Breakfast consisted of apples, bananas, bagels and mini-muffins, three waffle irons, caf and decaf coffee, breakfast sandwiches, flavored water, yogurt, cereal and milk. We always choose hotels with free breakfast for convenience, and usually grab bananas and apples to tote into the parks (this post lists eight other hotels near Disney that offer free breakfast and can be booked with points).

Gorgeous pool area

POOL

This beautiful pool was still one week away from opening, so we didn’t use it; instead, we walked across the parking lot and used the Holiday Inn Express pool every day during our lunch park break.

Complete with splash pad

TAKEAWAYS

We love the newness, location and amenities of this hotel and would stay here again! It checked all our boxes: clean, quiet, free breakfast, suite, and best of all bookable with points (here are 15 hotels with one mile of Disney that you can book with points).
